To support this challenge, we are currently looking for:

Assistant Plant Breeder

Full time

Main Responsibilities

A. Support in breeding activities

· Carry out the sowing, transplanting, pollination and harvesting of fruits from breeding lines;

· Complete hybridisation programmes for various crops, performing emasculation and pollination operations;

· Support the breeder in the evaluation and selection of research lines;

· Supervise and occasionally train field workers;

· Collect data during the various stages of the crop cycle, according to the objectives set by the breeder;

· Extract and disinfect seeds.

B. Data processing

· Assign field numbers and record selected plants for each plot;

· Record the results of analyses with molecular markers or in vivo tests to update the resistance profile of selected plants;

· Record, catalogue and be able to statistically analyse data on fruits and plants collected during the season;

· Maintain a seed inventory;

· Periodically prepare reports, protocols and analysis procedures.

Required qualifications

· Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences or similar

· Knowledge of the main concepts of Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Genetics and Plant Physiology

· Good level of spoken and written English

· Familiarity with common Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Similar experience in another seed company may be a plus.

· Adequate experience in the seed sector or in the distribution of technical equipment for agriculture in general;

· Knowledge of the territory and distribution channels;

· Organisational skills;

· Preferably a degree in agricultural sciences or similar qualifications;

· Familiarity with the most common IT tools;

· Residence in the work area.

Trial Officer-Promoter - Puglia/Basilicata

Role:

• Set up, monitor and perform trials in your area of expertise in close collaboration with the product development manager and area agent;

• Conduct field trial evaluations by collecting data to share with the research and development team, such as positioning, agronomic practices or other relevant information about the variety;

• Organise the necessary trial agreements, contracts and other processes with stakeholders;

• Collect relevant information on market trends, agronomic issues and any information useful to stakeholders such as research and development, marketing and sales teams;

• Use trial evaluations and competitor variety performance, highlighting key advantages/disadvantages in promotional activities;

• Organise demo trials for customers and promote varieties during customer visits;

• Support the work of the marketing team by providing adequate technical information on product response and performance to support product positioning and sales.

Requirements:

• Adequate experience in the seed sector or in the distribution of technical equipment for agriculture in general;

• Knowledge of the territory and existing distribution channels;

• Organisational skills;

• Preferably a degree in agricultural sciences or similar qualifications;

• Familiarity with the most common IT tools;

• Residence in Puglia or Basilicata.
